Bringing Fast, Friendly, and Reliable Service to Your Neighborhood
Terms and Conditions
Welcome to MAN AND A VAN. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the use of our website manandvannearme.co.uk and the booking of any moving, removals, deliveries, storage, and clearance services provided by Man and a Van Moving & Clearance Co. ("we," "our," or "us").
By booking our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully before making a booking.
1. Quotations and Booking
Quotations: All quotes provided by us are based on the information you supply (e.g., volume of items, access issues, flights of stairs). We reserve the right to amend the final price if the actual job details differ significantly from the information provided.
Validity: Quotations are valid for 28 days from the date of issue.
Booking Confirmation: A booking is only secured once we have confirmed it with you via email, text, or phone call.
2. Cancellations and Postponements
We understand that moving plans can change. However, because we reserve vehicles and staff for your job, the following cancellation fees apply:
More than 48 hours' notice: No cancellation fee applies.
Between 24 and 48 hours' notice: A fee equal to 50% of the total quote will be charged.
Less than 24 hours' notice: The full amount (100%) of the quote is payable.
3. Customer Responsibilities and Warranties
You, the customer, guarantee and agree that:
Ownership: You are either the owner of the goods to be moved or cleared, or you have full legal authority from the owner to enter into this agreement.
Access: You will ensure clear, safe access to both the pickup and drop-off properties (including parking permissions, permits, or elevator access where necessary). Any parking fines incurred due to a lack of legal access will be added to your final bill.
Packing: Unless you have explicitly booked our packing service, all items must be safely packed into secure boxes and ready for transit before our arrival.
4. Moving and Removals Exclusions
Unless previously agreed in writing, our drivers and team members will not:
Dismantle or reassemble any flat-pack furniture (e.g., IKEA furniture).
Disconnect or reconnect large appliances (e.g., washing machines, dishwashers, gas cookers).
Lift or move items that cannot be safely handled by our team or that exceed safe working load limits.
5. Clearance Services and Prohibited Items
For all property, house, garage, or office clearance services:
Legal Waste Disposal: We handle waste responsibly and in compliance with UK environmental laws.
Prohibited Items: We cannot and will not clear or transport hazardous materials, including but not limited to:
Asbestos
Toxic chemicals, paints, solvents, or oils
Gas canisters or pressurized bottles
Clinical, medical, or biological waste
Live animals
Inspection: We reserve the right to inspect items before loading and refuse any materials deemed hazardous or illegal.
6. Liability for Loss and Damage
Limits of Liability: While we handle your goods with the utmost care, our liability for loss or damage to your property or goods is strictly limited. We are not liable for damage to goods that were poorly packed or boxed by the customer.
Fragile Items: Extremely fragile or high-value items (such as jewelry, cash, deeds, or fine art) should be moved by the customer personally. We do not accept liability for these items.
Reporting Damage: Any claim for loss or damage must be notified to us in writing within 7 days of the completed service. We will not consider claims made outside of this timeframe.
7. Payment Terms
Payment Schedule: Payment must be made in full immediately upon completion of the service, unless a deposit or advance payment was agreed upon at the time of booking.
Accepted Forms: We accept bank transfers and cash payments.
Late Payments: We reserve the right to charge interest on any overdue amounts at a rate of 8% per annum above the Bank of England base rate.
8. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the UK courts.
